Written by Joy Gregory and Gunnar Madsen, “The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World” will appear as a joint production of Playwrights Horizon and New York Theater Workshop. The show — which made a 2005 festival appearance in an earlier version — recaps the lives of siblings Dot, Betty and Helen Wiggin, who were thrashed into a band under the weighty hand of their father Austin.
