Fresh off his show-closing display of contrition at the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West is set to revisit another key location in the history of his public implosion, performing on the Oct. 2 episode of "Saturday Night Live," NBC announced today.

On "Power," the first single from his upcoming fifth record released in May, Yeezy directs a choice expletive to " 'SNL' and the whole cast," just before quoting a particularly memorable kiss-off from Jay-Z's "99 Problems." (Presumably the rapper-producer was upset over past "SNL" host Taylor Lautner's dismantling of him in cardboard effigy form during his opening monologue, though the roots of West's various enmities can often be difficult to pin down.)

Oct. 2 performance will be West's fourth appearance on the show. Bryan Cranston is scheduled to host.
