Warner Music Entertainment has announced ‘House’ star Hugh Laurie has signed a deal to record an album of New Orleans-inspired blues, reports the AP.
“I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity,” Laurie said in a statement. “I know the history of actors making music is a checkered one, but I promise no one will get hurt.”
The move isn’t really much of a stretch, considering he performs gigs with ‘Band from TV,’ the rock band which consists of other TV stars. Aside from their collective love of music, the group’s perfs help raise funds for charitable causes.
Laurie’s forthcoming blues album is to be produced by Grammy winner Joe Henry, who has also worked with Ani Di Franco, Elvis Costello and Loudon Wainwright III.
