The Grammy Awards will return to Staples Center on Feb. 13.
Airing again on CBS, show had been pushed back to late January this year to avoid head-to-head competition with the Winter Olympics. Recording Academy prexy Neil Portnow noted the kudocast delivered the Grammys’ best ratings since 2004 and the biggest year-over-year increase in more than 20 years. Academy also announced that the eligibility period for the 2011 awards will be Sept. 1, 2009, through Sept. 30, 2010. This 13-month window will shift the eligibility cut-off back to the end of September; last year the academy ended eligibility in late August, prompting grumbling from artists and labels.
