“Gleeks” invade B’way

Speaking of the Tony Awards ceremony, if you missed the CBS telecast on Sunday, here’s some footage of the performances by “Glee” stars Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele.

SoundCheck isn’t sure if Fox’s high school musical stars are quite ready for the proscenium stage. Morrison — who is prepping a solo album — puffs and pants through his version of “All I Need is the Girl” (from “Gypsy”), while Michele starts at the top and vaults over it in an attempt to out-Streisand Babs on “Don’t Rain On My Parade” (the “Funny Girl” showstopper). Watch, and then weigh in with your best Simon Cowell imitation.

Ah well. The singers can take some consolation in the certain arrival of the latest “Glee” product, the EP “Journey to Regionals,” at or near the top of the national album chart this Wednesday.
