‘Glee’ star signs with UMG

Morrison's recording debut set for fall 2010

“Glee” star Matthew Morrison has signed a worldwide recording contract with Universal Music Group’s Mercury Records.

Morrison’s recording debut is set for a fall 2010 release.

The actor-vocalist who plays high school singing coach Will Schuester on the Fox hit is up for lead TV comedy actor honors at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards.

Morrison came to the tube after appearances in such legit shows as “Hairspray,” “The Light in the Piazza” (for which he received a Tony nod), “10 Million Miles” (which garnered a Drama Desk Awards nomination) and “South Pacific.”

On the big screen, he has appeared in “Dan in Real Life,” “I Think I Love My Wife” and “Music and Lyrics.”
