For their co-headlining stint to break in the new Yankee Stadium as a concert venue, both Jay-Z and Eminem exhausted their respective Rolodexes, flying in such boldface hip-hop names as Kanye West, Beyonce, 50 Cent, Drake, Nicki Minaj and…uh, Chris Martin, for guest appearances. (Commence with the inevitable "why do so many rappers love Coldplay?" queries.)

Yet among the many superstars on display, one name stood out: Dr. Dre, the G-Funk progenitor who has spent most of the past decade in Howard Hughes-like seclusion, presumably working on his long-fabled new record, "Detox." Stepping out during Eminem's set to perform oldies "Still D.R.E." and "Nuthin' But a 'G' Thang," the 45-year-old Comptonian answered crowd chants for the overdue album with a simple "I'm coming." Light on specificity, perhaps, but still the surest indication that the record actually exists aside from a curious Dr. Pepper commercial.
