Don’t Knock the Rock ’10 schedule announced

Cinefamily’s Silent Movie Theater has announced a typically eclectic schedule for this year’s Don’t Knock the Rock Festival, curated by director Allison Anders and her daughter Tiffany.

Highlights include “The One Man Beatles,” a feature about the elusive L.A. pop-rock hero Emitt Rhodes (July 8); a double bill of “Dogs in Space,” a 1986 Aussie feature starring late INXS vocalist Michael Hutchence as the front man for the titular fictitious rock band, and “We’re Livin’ On Dog Food,” about the ’80s Melbourne rock scene and the making of “Dogs in Space” (July 15); “Do It Again,” a comedic doc about journalist Geoff Edgers’ attempt to get the notoriously fractious English group the Kinks to re-form (July 22); “SoCal Uber Alles,” an evening of footage from San Francisco’s Target Video (July 29); “Deconstructing Dad,” about composer and electronic music pioneer Raymond Scott (Aug. 5); and “Vagabondo,” a look at folk singer Vince Martin (Aug. 26).
