Bowie going and coming on Criterion

The-man-who-fell-to-earth-190-75 There's bad news and good news for fans of David Bowie, thespian.

The bad news: Criterion Collection has announced that its lavish DVD and Blu-ray editions of Nicolas Roeg's 1976 film "The Man Who Fell to Earth" are going out of print, effective June 30.

Studio Canal, which holds the video license to that feature and 10 other Criterions being yanked off the market, has been issuing fresh editions of its titles via Lions Gate's home video unit. So bid goodbye to Bowie's addled alien for a while, and grab the Criterion version — which includes a copy of Walter Tevis' novel — while you can.
