BMI ups Delia Orjuela

Named VP of Latin music writer/publisher relations

Longtime BMI employee Delia Orjuela has been promoted to vice president of BMI’s Latin music writer/publisher relations from her previous post as assistant vice president of Latin music.

In her new position, Orjuela will continue to lead BMI’s Latin music department, which is in charge of the developing and maintaining BMI’s relationship with Latin songwriters, composers and publishers. She will also oversee the company’s annual Latin Awards.

Since joining BMI in 1997, Orjuela has been responsible for signing and working with artists including Juanes, Pitbull and Pepe Aguilar.

Previously, Orjuela was West Coast publicity director and promotions representative at RMM Records in Los Angeles. She has also held freelance production and on-air positions for companies including CNN Spanish, Turner Entertainment Report and KBRG 104.9 in San Jose, Calif.
