Remember the Maine: Arizona pop-punk band the Maine scores the fattest debut outside the top 10 this week with “Black & White” (Warner Bros.), which enters at No. 16 with a 25,000-unit showing. Collection was produced by Howard Benson, who had some success with the Maine’s label mates My Chemical Romance.
Dark Indeed: Danger Mouse and Sparklehorse’s “Dark Night of the Soul” (Capitol), the musical component of director David Lynch’s audio-visual project, enters at No. 24, selling 16,000. Two of the musicians on the long-delayed package are no longer with us: Mark “Sparklehorse” Linkous took his own life in March, while Vic Chesnutt committed suicide in December.
