The 3D myth pic nabs the top spot.

The 3D Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures coproduction, “Clash of the Titans,” opened with an estimated $28.5 million in 3,777 runs on Friday. Its closest competitor was “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too?” from Lionsgate. The Tyler Perry and Janet Jackson starrer collected an estimated $12.2 million in 2,155 engagements.

DreamWorks Animation and Paramount’s 3D pic, “How To Train Your Dragon,” was No. 3, taking in an estimated $11 million on 4,060 runs. The Miley Cyrus vehicle, “The Last Song,” (Disney) earned an estimated $7 million in 2,673 runs. Disney’s “Alice In Wonderland” took the fifth spot with an estimated $3.0 million in 2,980 runs in its fifth week of release.

Right behind “Alice” was the MGM comedy, “Hot Tub Time Machine,” which gathered an estimated $2.9 million in 2,771 engagements, a 40 percent drop from last Friday. Fox’s “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” was No. 7 with $2.4 million in 2,842 runs. Rounding out the bottom three were Sony’s “The Bounty Hunter,” with $2.3 million in 3,118 engagements, Paramount’s “She’s Out of My League,” with $556,000 in 1,390 runs, and Paramount’s “Shutter Island,” with $536,000 in 1,356 runs.
