‘Life’ is good at Friday B.O.

Heigl, Duhamel starrer edges out 'Social Network'

“Life As We Know It,” the new pic from Warner Bros., got the top spot at the Friday B.O. with about $5.2 million in 3,150 engagements. The Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel starrer bested Sony’s “The Social Network,” which collected about $4.9 million in 2,771 runs.

Disney’s “Secretariat” began its first frame with roughly $4 million in 3,072 engagements. “My Soul to Take,” a 3D pic from Universal, earned an estimate of $2.7 million in 2,572 runs. Warner Bros.’ “The Town” rounded out the top 5 on Friday with about $1.8 million in 2,720 engagements.

“Legends of the Guardians,” also from Warner Bros., took in about $1.7 million in 3,225 engagements. Oliver Stone’s “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” earned 20th Century Fox about $1.4 million in 2,829 runs. Sony’s comedy “Easy A” earned about $1.3 million in 2,847 engagements. Paramount/Vantage’s “Case 39” grabbed the No. 9 spot and took in about $800,000 in 2,212 runs, and Disney’s “You Again” came in No. 10 with 758,000 in 2,332 engagements.
