Former RDF USA topper assembles production co.
producer Matilda Zoltowski — who helped launch “Dancing With the Stars” in the U.S. — as senior VP of development and current. Coelen, who’s funding the startup, plans to hire at least five more employees in the coming months. “There are real opportunities in the marketplace for a nimble, entrepreneurial company who can truly deliver the creative goods,” Coelen said. Coelen launched RDF’s U.S. outpost in 2006 as its first full-time North American staffer. As CEO of RDF USA and Group Director for North America, Coelen’s team sold more than 30 series and specials, half of which were created internally. Programs he oversaw included “Secret Millionaire,” “Find My Family,” “Don’t Forget the Lyrics,” “Wife Swap,” “One Big Happy Family,” “Hitched or Ditched” and “Jessica Simpson’s The Price of Beauty.” Coelen also oversaw RDF’s branch into scripted, with the Syfy order for “Being Human.” Exec’s resume also includes founding the alternative department at UTA, and the non-scripted division at APA. He began his career at Fox Television. Zoltowski, who served as co-EP of “Dancing,” also worked on the first two seasons of “Strictly Come Dancing” in the U.K. Prior to Kinetic and RDF, Danska was VP of talent at E!, where she developed “Kimora: Life in the Fast Lane,” among other projects. Prior to RDF, Massimei worked as a producer and director on shows for networks such as TLC, Discovery, Lifetime and History.
