‘Sisterella’ returns to L.A.

Jackson cohorts produce show presented originally by pop star

A pair of Michael Jackson associates, Jerry Greenberg and Frank Dileo, will produce a new L.A. staging of “Sisterella,” the 1996 tuner on which Jackson had been a presenter.

Larry Hart’s New York-set “Cinderella” redux, originally seen at Pasadena Playhouse, will target a spring 2011 opening. Original choreographer Raymond G. Del Barrio has returned to the project as co-director and choreographer, with further details about the creative team to be announced.

Greenberg was prexy of Jackson’s record label and Dileo was his manager.

Duo exec produced the musical’s initial 1996 run, with Jackson’s name on the marquee as a presenter.

Exec producers attached to the new production include Mark Lamica, Quincy Krashna and Hart.

Casting and perf dates have not yet been nailed down.
