Robin Williams starrer and Pulitzer finalist “Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo” is set for the Rialto’s Richard Rodgers Theater, where “In the Heights” will play until its skedded closing of Jan. 9, 2011.
“Tiger” is written by Rajiv Joseph, directed by Moises Kaufman and reps Williams’ Broadway acting debut (though he has performed his comedy shows on Broadway in the past). Williams will play the tiger of the title, who roams the streets of Baghdad alongside two American marines and an Iraqi gardener.
Robyn Goodman, Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Center Theater Group are producing “Tiger.”
The play will begin previews March 11 with an opening night of March 31.
