NEW YORK — Road grosses climbed 1.9% in Week 33 (Jan. 4 – 10), bringing the total gross for the 13-show slate to $14,329,939.

“The Color Purple” was back on layoff again, and “Jersey Boys” finished its 119-week run in Chicago. “A Chorus Line” returned to the boards, and “Dreamgirls” began reporting from Milwaukee. “Wicked” broke the house record at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, bringing in the week’s highest gross with $1,921,865.
