Multihyphenate Charles Randolph-Wright has won the 2010 Paul Robeson Award from legit thesp union Actors’ Equity Assn. The Robeson is handed out to multi-hyphenates in recognition of “a person who best exemplifies the principles by which Mr. Robeson lived.”
Randolph-Wright is currently directing “Through the Night,” Daniel Beaty’s one-man show, at Gotham’s Union Square Theater. Randolph-Wright was in the original Broadway cast of “Dreamgirls,” directed the 75th anniversary production of “Porgy and Bess,” and co-created the 2002 outing “Bea Arthur on Broadway: Just Between Friends.”
Award will be presented to Randolph-Wright at Equity’s New York headquarters Oct. 8.
