Peter Pan prequel opens March 9

New York Theater Workshop’s Disney-developed production of “Peter and the Starcatchers” has announced its cast and creative team, including Broadway vets Adam Chanler-Berat (“Next to Normal”) and Celia Keenan-Bolger (“The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”) as well as Christian Borle, who is currently leading the cast of the Signature Theater revival of “Angels in America.”

Production, adapted from Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson’s bestselling Peter Pan prequel novel by Rick Elice, will be helmed by Roger Rees and Alex Timbers. Disney Theatricals developed the show and provides enhancement money for the NYTW production.

Chanler-Berat will play Peter, Borle will take on the role of the pirate Black Stache, and Keenan-Bolger will play Molly. Also in the cast are “Altar Boyz” book writer Kevin Del Aguila and former “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” cast member Greg Hildreth.

Previews for the show will start Feb. 18 with opening night set for March 9.
