Mulgrew, Thompson cast in ‘Antony’

Bard play set for Hartford Stage season

Kate Mulgrew and John Douglas Thompson will play the title roles in William Shakespeare’s “Antony and Cleopatra” at Hartford Stage.

Tina Landau will helm the October production, the opening show in the company’s newly renovated theater.

Mulgrew (“Star Trek: Voyager,” “Mercy”) starred as Katharine Hepburn in Matthew Lombardo’s solo show, “Tea at Five,” at the theater. Thompson earned kudos for Off Broadway’s “Othello” (for which he won an Obie and a Lortel Award) and “The Emperors Jones,” and is currently on the boards in “The Forest.”
