A Michael Shannon-toplined Off Broadway bow of Craig Wright play “Mistakes Were Made” has nailed down a limited run at the Barrow Street Theater, where the show lands in November.
Shannon (“Boardwalk Empire,” “Revolutionary Road”) has previously played Barrow Street in a recent stint in the just-shuttered revival of “Our Town” and in the 2004 production of Tracy Letts’ “Bug.”
“Bug” helmer Dexter Bullard also directs “Mistakes,” about a fast-talking Hollywood producer (Shannon) aiming to get an epic pic about the French Revolution off the ground. Mierka Girten appears as the producer’s assistant.
Off Broadway output for Wright (“Six Feet Under,” “Lost,” “Dirty Sexy Money”) has included “Lady,” “Recent Tragic Events,” “Orange Flower Water” and “The Pavilion.”
“Mistakes” had played Chicago, where the played preemed, and Hartford. The staging in Chi also starred Shannon and was helmed by Bullard.
Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter, the trio behind “Our Town,” produce “Mistakes.” Sixteen-week engagement begins previews Nov. 5 ahead of a Nov. 14 opening.
