Mays goes ‘Measure for Measure’

Play to be helmed by 'Othello' director Arin Arbus

Jefferson Mays toplines Theater for a New Audience’s upcoming production of “Measure for Measure,” helmed by Arin Arbus, director of last season’s much-praised staging of “Othello.”

Mays, who picked up a 2004 Tony for his perf in “I Am My Own Wife,” will play the Duke of Vienna, who pretends to depart his city in order to spy on its activities, including those of appointed leader Angelo, to be played by Rocco Sisto. Elizabeth Waterston co-stars as Isabella, the young nun with whom Angelo becomes obsessed.

The Off Broadway staging of “Measure for Measure” begins perfs Feb. 6 ahead of a Feb. 14 opening.
