Marshall dishes ‘Berger’

'Cyrano de Bergerac' redux to play in New Jersey

Kathleen Marshall will helm and choreograph tuner “Calvin Berger” at New Jersey’s George Street Playhouse.

“Berger,” writer-composer Barry Wyner’s high-school redux of “Cyrano de Bergerac,” has been on the legit radar since it bowed in 2006 at Gloucester Stage Co. and then was developed and produced at Barrington Stage in 2007, both in Massachusetts.

Marshall, whose Rialto credits include “The Pajama Game” and “Grease,” will direct a cast that includes Noah Weisberg (“South Pacific,” “Legally Blonde”), David Hull, Krystal Joy Brown and Dana Steingold.

Berger” begins previews Feb. 10 ahead of a Feb. 19 opening.
