Dick Latessa is among the thesps set to round out the 27-actor cast of the upcoming Broadway revival of “Promises, Promises.”
Latessa, who picked up a 2003 Tony for his role in “Hairspray,” will play the doctor in the 1968 adaptation of “The Apartment,” joining a cast that already includes Sean Hayes as Chuck, an insurance company employee who lends his apartment to philandering executives, and Kristin Chenoweth as the waitress with whom Chuck is in love.
Peter Benson, Sean Martin Hingston, Ken Land and the previously announced Brooks Ashmanskas appear as a quartet of cheating execs in the musical, penned by Neil Simon, Burt Bacharach and Hal David.
Scott Pask (sets), Bruce Pask (costumes), Donald Holder (lights) and Brian Ronan (sound) make up the design team, led by helmer-choreographer Rob Ashford.
Broadway Across America, Craig Zadan, Neil Meron, The Weinstein Company/Terry Allen Kramer, Candy Spelling and Pat Addiss are among the producers of the tuner, with Broadway Across America’s Beth Williams listed as exec producer.
“Promises, Promises” kicks off previews March 27 ahead of an April 25 opening at the Broadway Theater.
