Larroquette goes Off Broadway

Actor will topline Meriwether's 'Oliver!'

John Larroquette and Monica Raymund (“Lie to Me”) are among thesps lined up to star Off Broadway in “Oliver!,” the new play by Elizabeth Meriwether, the buzzed-about screenwriter of upcoming pic “Friends With Benefits.”

“Friends With Benefits” is due to begin shooting next month with Ivan Reitman directing a cast toplined by Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman.

Johanna Day (“Proof”) and Michael Zegen also appear in the four-person cast, to be helmed by Evan Cabnet.

Play is a black comedy about an unusual friendship between 17-year-old Oliver (Zegen) and a 60-year-old man (Larroquette).

Meriwether’s past stage outings include “The Mistakes Madeline Made” and “Heddatron.”

World preem of “Oliver!” is presented by legit troupe StageFarm at the Cherry Lane Theater, where the production begins previews May 9 ahead of a May 17 opening.
