A world preem by Neil LaBute that’s co-produced by L.A.’s Geffen Playhouse is among the shows on the 2010-11 slate at Off Broadway’s MCC Theater.
MCC — whose latest offering is “Family Week,” the first stage outing from helmer Jonathan Demme — will kick off next season with LaBute’s “The Break of Noon,” running in an October-December slot ahead of a Geffen engagement that begins in January. Jo Bonney directs the play, about a man who finds religion during an office shooting.
Second show of the season is Sharr White’s “The Other Place,” a thriller centering on a woman who does research for Alzheimer’s drugs, in a production that runs March-April 2011.
Final offering, Michael Weller’s “Side Effects,” hearkens back to a 2008 MCC show, Weller’s well-reviewed “Fifty Words.” Production is set for May-June 2011.
All three MCC productions will run at Off Broadway’s Lucille Lortel Theater, with further details regarding casting and creative teams to be announced.
