NEW YORK — Road grosses fell 1.3% in Week 11 (Aug. 2 – 8) as most shows saw only minor fluctuations in their week-to-week tallies. The total gross for the 10-show slate was $11,772,424. Two productions sustained significant decreases — “In the Heights” and “South Pacific” — both in their first week in a new city. Meanwhile, the first and second companies of “Wicked” continued their torrid summers, breaking house records in Columbus, Ohio, and Milwaukee, respectively. The first troupe, which failed to set a house record in its inaugural week at Columbus’ OhioTheater, succeeded the next week, with $1,407,325, while the second company broke its own record for the third straight week at Milwaukee’s Marcus Center with a haul of $1,478,411. Not to be forgotten, “The Lion King” in Vancouver, B.C., eclipsed its own mark, though the fluctuating exchange rate left it $176 shy of last week’s gross in U.S. dollars with $1,876,817 — far and away the frame’s highest gross.
