John Tartaglia has a new puppet show in town, with the tuner “Imaginocean” getting an Off Broadway run next month.
Tartaglia, an original cast member of “Avenue Q” who went on to create “Johnny and the Sprites” for TV, pens the book for “Imaginocean” while William Wade writes the music. Plot of the hourlong offering, staged under black light, follows the underwater adventures of three fish friends.
Donna Drake directs the production, which originally bowed on a cruise ship last year.
“Imaginocean” begins previews March 17 ahead of a March 31 opening at New World Stages.
