‘Glee’ not going legit

Fox denies talk of stage pact

Reports of a stage licensing deal for the Fox skein “Glee” are incorrect.

News that tuner licensing company Music Theater Intl. was in discussions to create a legit version of the buzzed-about show initially surfaced online and were confirmed by MTI. But a rep for Fox said no talks had taken place with MTI or any other legit licensing company.

20th Century Fox TV spokesman Chris Alexander said, “We are very careful and deliberate when contemplating brand extensions of our franchises and are mystified why Music Theater International would claim there have been any such discussions about a live theatrical version of ‘Glee.'”

Cast members from “Glee” are already set to hit the stage with a four-city concert tour that kicks off in Phoenix on May 15.
