Gilded ‘La Cage’

Drag queens dig revival's opening night

Big-wigged drag queens took over West 48th St. for the revival of “La Cage aux Folles,” composed by Jerry Herman, at the Longacre Theater.

The occasion marked Kelsey Grammer’s return to Broadway after his short-lived Shakespeare stint 10 years ago.

“I think if Macbeth were in this situation, he’d probably just kill everybody,” Grammer joked at the very post-performance party at Providence.

Partygoers included Grammer’s “Frasier” co-star David Hyde Pierce, thesp Emmy Rossum and her boyfriend, Adam Duritz, frontman for Counting Crows, who was overheard discussing his new musical with playwright Stephen Belber.
