Emerging writers gain fellowship

Van Lier playwriting fellows announced

Emerging legit scribes Jon Kern, Kristine Haruna Lee and Harrison David Rivers have been tapped for New Dramatists’ 2010-11 Van Lier Playwriting Fellowship.

The 18-month fellowship, which awards $10,000 to each writer, includes access to the development resources at New Dramatists, the org devoted to nurturing fresh playwriting talent.

Fellowship specifically seeks out young, economically disadvantaged, minority playwrights in New York City. New Dramatists resident playwright Zakiyyah Alexander will act as fellowship coordinator.
