Elizabeth Meriwether Off Broadway

Writer's latest to show to bow this May

A new play by Elizabeth Meriwether, the buzzed-about screenwriter of upcoming pic “Friends With Benefits,” will get an Off Broadway preem at the Cherry Lane Theater this spring.

New play “Oliver!” centers on the 17-year-old title character and his 60-year-old best friend, Jasper. Director Evan Cabnet previously staged Meriwether’s Gotham hit “The Mistakes Madeline Made.”

No casting has yet been announced for the show, produced by Off Broadway troupe the Stagefarm (“The Gingerbread House”).

“Oliver!” runs May 8-June 6, with official opening set for May 17.
