Duo weigh in on ‘Scale’

Public Theater, 3-Legged Dog team on solo show

The Public Theater and 3-Legged Dog will co-present “The Human Scale,” a new solo show written and performed by Pulitzer-winning nonfiction scribe Lawrence Wright and helmed by Public a.d. Oskar Eustis.

The show will be performed at 3-Legged Dog’s downtown venue, the 3LD Art and Technology Center. Perfs start Oct. 2 and continue through Oct. 31 with opening night set for Oct. 7. The Oct. 2 perf will be part of the New Yorker Festival.

Wright, who wrote the 2006 history of Al Qaeda, “The Looming Tower,” also performed in his own one-man show “My Trip to Al-Qaeda,” in which he recounted his personal experiences researching “Tower.” “Trip” has been made into a docu for HBO by Oscar-winner Alex Gibney.

“Human Scale” explores the same subject Wright studied in his Nov. 2009 New Yorker essay “Captives:” the 2006 Israel-Gaza conflict.
