Dreyfuss heads to Off Broadway

Actor to star in new play 'Imagining Heschel'

Richard Dreyfuss is set to star Off Broadway in the world preem of Colin Greer’s play “Imagining Heschel,” bowing later this fall at the Cherry Lane Theater.

The Culture Project production, which co-stars playwright-performer Rinde Eckert, is helmed by Larry Moss (“The Syringa Tree”).

History-based tale centers on the ongoing conversations between Cardinal Augustin Bea (Eckert) and Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel (Dreyfuss), which occurred between 1962 and 1973 as the Vatican Council went through the process of exonerating the Jews for the death of Jesus.

Production begins previews Nov. 4 ahead of a Nov. 8 opening.
