New tuners “Darwin” and “Post Office” are lined up to play the DouglasPlus series at L.A.’s Center Theater Group’s Kirk Douglas Theater.
All-ages musical “Darwin,” by Corbin Popp and Ian Carney, uses puppets, tech and dance to tell the story of a dinosaur engineered by a scientist with magical powers. Show plays Saturday-Jan. 30.
Next up is “Post Office,” by scribe Melissa James Gibson (“This”) and composer Michael Friedman (“Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson”). Mark Brokaw directs the staged reading of the show, which runs Feb. 17-21.
