Boyd Gaines will play the third character in the Broadway-bound production of three-hander “Driving Miss Daisy,” toplined by James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave.
Gaines will portray Miss Daisy’s son in the show, which centers on the growing friendship between a Jewish woman and her black chauffer.
Gaines was last on the Main Stem in the 2008 revival of “Gypsy,” for which he picked up his fourth Tony. He now appears in Lincoln Center Theater’s Off Broadway production of “The Grand Manner.”
Produced by Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich, “Miss Daisy” begins a 16-week limited run Oct. 7 ahead of an Oct. 25 opening at the Golden Theater.
