Goldin yanked from directing duties
David Cromer will direct the Broadway staging of “Yank!,” the tuner that has in previous incarnations been helmed by Igor Goldin.
Cromer’s high-profile resume includes Broadway (“Brighton Beach Memoirs”) and several notable Off Broadway productions including “Our Town,” “The Adding Machine” and the recent “When the Rain Stops Falling.” Goldin’s credits in Gotham, on the other hand, are largely limited to smaller productions.
The helmer of the recent run of “Yank!” Off Broadway, Goldin has directed several stagings of the tuner including its 2005 stint at the New York Musical Theater Fest and runs in San Diego and Brooklyn.
No cast or other production details have been confirmed for the Broadway incarnation of the musical by David Zellnik and Joseph Zellnik. The Off Broadway production starred Bobby Steggert (“Ragtime”) and Ivan Hernandez as two WWII soldiers who fall in love.
Commercial producing team of “Yank!” inclues Maren Berthelsen, Pamela Koslow and Stuart Wilk, among others.
Exact schedule for the Main Stem production remains to be nailed down.
