John Selya, Keith Roberts and Ashley Tuttle are among the thesps reprising their roles in the Broadway incarnation of Twyla Tharp dance-ical “Come Fly Away.”
Performers appeared in the Atlanta tryout of “Come Fly” this fall along with dancers including Holly Farmer, Charlie Neshyba-Hodges, Laura Mead, Karine Plantadit, Rika Okamoto and Matthew Dibble, all also returning parts they played in Atlanta. Selya, Roberts and Tuttle were all Tony nominees for their perfs in Tharp’s 2002 outing “Movin’ Out.”
“Come Fly,” which follows the events of one evening at a nightclub, is set to songs made famous by Sinatra, performed by a live orchestra with recorded Sinatra vocals (as well as contributions from a live female singer). Show earned upbeat reviews in Atlanta in September.
Produced on Broadway by James L. Nederlander and Troika Entertainment, among others, “Come Fly” begins previews March 1 ahead of a March 25 opening at the Marquis Theater.
