The Broadway staging of “Brief Encounter” will feature several of the same actors — including leads Tristan Sturrock and Hannah Yelland — who appeared in the show’s popular run last season at St. Ann’s Warehouse in Brooklyn.
Also returning to the multimedia adaptation of the Noel Coward tale are Joseph Alessi, Dorothy Atkinson, Edward Jay, Annette McLaughlin and Adam Pleeth. Only a couple of thesps, Damon Daunno and Gabriel Ebert, are new to the ensemble.
A London hit from U.K. troupe Kneehigh Theatre, “Brief Encounter” also has played U.S. stints in San Francisco and Minneapolis along with its Brooklyn run.
Emma Rice adapts and directs the staging, to be produced on the Main Stem by the Roundabout Theater Company in association with David Pugh, Dafydd Rogers and Cineworld. Broadway incarnation begins previews Sept. 10 ahead of a Sept. 28 opening at Studio 54.
