Sally Hawkins will make her Broadway debut in the Roundabout Theater’s upcoming revival of “Mrs. Warren’s Profession.”
The actress will play the daughter of the title character, the role to be filled by the previously announced Cherry Jones (“24,” “Doubt”).
Hawkins, who grabbed attention for her perf in Mike Leigh pic “Happy-Go-Lucky,” is one of a handful of thesps to join the cast of the George Bernard Shaw play. Edward Hibbert, Mark Harelik, Michael Siberry and Adam Driver round out the ensemble.
Play centers on the conflict that erupts between mother and daughter following the revelation of what the mother does for a living.
Helmed by Doug Hughes, “Mrs. Warren’s Profession” begins previews Sept. 3 ahead of an Oct. 3 opening at the American Airlines Theater.
