Stage goes shoeless at 2010 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Shoeless and penniless, that’s the way they rolled at the 34th Annual Women in Film: Crystal + Lucy Awards.

Shoeless took a while on Tuesday night. But penniless started early, as Judd Apatow and Leslie Mann rolled up to the bar during the silent auction at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel. “Cash only?” Apatow asked with a chortle. “But we don’t have any cash!” Mann replied. “Who brings cash to these things?”

Happily, the power couple found some free Jacob’s Creek sparkling rose to sip and joined the celebration of all things women in entertainment. They were there to honor Universal’s Donna Langley, who took home the Crystal Award from a shoeless Emily Blunt. Why was Emily shoeless? It started with host Debra Messing taking off her sky-high platforms and shouting to the well-heeled crowd, “I had to do it, you know you are jealous!” Blunt and presenter Christina Gabrielle threw off theirs, too, but Lucy Award winner Courteney Cox kept hers on. As she explained, “I’ve never won an award before!”

Jennifer Aniston and David Arquette cheered, as Laura Dern handed her the prize.
