PARIS Aluizio Abranches’ gay drama “From Beginning to End” has been acquired by Philadelphia-based distribution company TLA Releasing for U.S. and U.K. distribution.
Pic was also acquired by Canada’s Vagrant Films.
Paris-based outfit Wide Management handles “From Beginning to End’s” international sales. The film is produced by Fernando Libonati’s Pequena Central.
Set in Rio and Buenos Aires, pic centers on an incestuous relationship between half-brothers, played by Rafael Cardoso and Joao Gabriel Vasconcelos. The storyline sparked controversy when it bowed in Brazil in November.
The docu has just been picked up by U.K.’s New Wave Films and Canada’s FunFilm Distribution.
Another docu in Wide Management’s catalog, Augustin and Jean Baptiste Legrand’s “The Children of Don Quixote,” has been acquired by Germany’s Eyz Media for theatrical distribution.
Produced by French helmer/thesp Mathieu Kassovitz, the film denounces the condition of the homeless in Paris.
Wide Management’s Berlin sales slate also includes Polish helmer’s Jacek Borcuch’s “All That I Love” and Mika Kaurismaki’s offbeat comedy “House of Branching Love.”
