Warner Bros. is getting in the ring with “Get Smart” director Peter Segal to helm boxing comedy “Grudge Match,” set up with Bill Gerber and Mark Steven Johnson.
Project’s based on a pitch by Tim Kelleher, who’s scripting a tale of two boxers and lifelong rivals coaxed out of retirement for a final grudge match. Actors have not yet been set for the project.
Segal’s credits include “The Longest Yard,” “50 First Dates” and “Anger Management.” Kelleher’s small-screen scripting credits include “Off Centre,” Living with Fran,” “Rock Me Baby” and “Junk in the Trunk.”
Sarah Schechter and Niija Kuykendall are overseeing the project for the studio.
