Project set up with Adrian Askarieh
Warner Bros. is launching development of an action-adventure centered on Leonardo da Vinci and is setting it up with Adrian Askarieh through his Prime Universe banner and Roy Lee and Doug Davison at Vertigo Entertainment.
Details of the story are under wraps other than da Vinci using his inventions in facing supernatural enemies.
Story is based on Askarieh’s original idea.
Da Vinci, who lived from 1452 to 1519, is considered to be one of the most talented men who ever lived. He’s best known as a painter of the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper but was also a mathematician, architect, sculptor, writer, scientist and inventor, including concepts for a helicopter, a tank, solar power, a calculator and the double hull.
Jon Berg is overseeing for Warners.
Askarieh’s been developing “Jonny Quest” at the studio with Dan Lin and Daniel Alter. Lee was a producer on “The Departed” at Warners.
