Warner takes ‘Ironclad’ in U.K.

Warner Bros. has snapped up all U.K. rights to medieval action pic “Ironclad.”

Pic, starring Paul Giamatti, James Purefoy and Brian Cox, follows the true story of a crew of hardened warriors who withstood several bloody and brutal months under siege from King John and his army.

It is co-written, co-produced and helmed by Jonathan English (“A Good Woman”) and Mythic Ent.’s Rick Benattar (“Shoot ‘Em Up”) and Andrew Curtis (“Lost in La Mancha”) also produce, while Erick Kastel and Stephen McDool co-wrote the script with English.

WB plans to release film theatrically in Blighty in the first quarter of next year.

ContentFilm Intl. is handling sales for the pic and is shopping it at AFM.
