Warner Bros: No Mel Gibson in ‘Hangover 2’

Melgibson_boffo Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have confirmed that Mel Gibson will not be appearing in “The Hangover 2.”

Director Todd Phillips said in a statement: “I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”

Gibson was expected to make a cameo in Warner Bros.’ sequel but actor Zach Galifianakis and others involved in the project were reportedly furious with the idea.

In a podcast interview with Comedy Death Ray earlier this month, Galifianakis said, “I’m in a deep protest right now with a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something. But I can’t get the guys to [listen] … I’m not making any leeway.”

Gibson made headlines earlier this year when he allegedly made racial and threatening remarks to his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva, which were subsequently leaked to the Web.

“The Hangover 2,” which stars Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms, opens Summer 2011.

Lesson for Mel Gibson: If you drunk drive and rant about the Hollywood Nation, the decision about your career is made by a short fat guy that played the episode in that movie you haven’t seen.

Wait a minute – so Zach Galifinakis runs the show now? When he’s achieved one-tenth the career Gibson has achieved, then maybe Todd Phillips could have cared for his opinion.
You’re an ACTOR Zach, not the head of the studio, just do what you’re told. Surely you could have ACTED pleasant around Gibson for the sake of the project?

I guess Zach Galifinakis will not be considered as cast in the next Mel Gibson’s movie, but why would he care?! He’s career is looking bright with future prospective roles in the Hangover3, Hangover 4 and Hangover5!
