Showbiz vet also worked with thoroughbreds

Edward Potash, former film buyer for United Artists Theater Circuit, died Dec. 20 of cardiovascular disease in Toms River, N.J. He was 88.

Potash worked in the film industry most of his life as United Artists buyer in Cherry Hill, N.J., until he retired in 1994.

The New York native was also a World War II naval veteran and worked for a period in the thoroughbred industry.

Immediate survivors include a sister, three sons, a daughter, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
