'Nowhere Boy' to close the 15th annual event
“Toy Story 3” and Magnolia Pictures’ Sundance alum “The Extra Man” will kick off the 2010 Nantucket Film Festival, which has announced a lineup that finishes with The Weinstein Company’s John Lennon biopic “Nowhere Boy.”
Latest incarnation of the fest also makes Ben Stiller’s All-Star Comedy Roundtable an annual event, joining other special programs including Late Night Storytelling and Morning Coffee With,,,
Among the pics on the festival’s list of about 25 offerings (so far) are Sundance prize winner “Winter’s Bone,” Oscar nominee “The Secret of Kells,” docs “Bill Cunningham New York” and “Freedom Riders” and Tribeca Film Fest vets “The Birth of Big Air,” “Cairo Time,” “Get Low” and “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work.”
Fest also hands out awards for feature, short, acting and docu storytelling, among other categories. Winner of the Showtime Tony Cox Award for screenwriting is due to be announed in early June.
The fifteenth annual installment of the fest will run June 17-June 20 in Nantucket, Mass.
