Thomas, founder of the Recorded Picture Company and its international sales arm HanWay Films, has produced more than 50 pics, including “The Last Emperor” and “Stealing Beauty.”
At the event, which aims to encourage new film financing relationships, he will share his experience in raising the finance for independent projects to ensure that they reach an audience.
This year, the PFM has attracted more than 60 producers presenting projects with almost E230 million ($322 million) of production value. Of the 57 financiers attending, there are leading equity, hedge fund, tax, public and broadcaster financiers, and reps from three of the four international banks that house a formal film finance department. Reps from new territories, including Russia, Hungary and Switzerland, will also attend the event.
Delegates will participate in approximately 750 face-to-face meetings with a variety of financiers from companies including Warner Bros., Paramount, Focus Features, Ealing Studios, Lionsgate U.K. and Wild Bunch.
The fourth edition of the Production Finance Market takes place Oct. 20-21.
