The Sundance Institute has tapped fundraising veteran Jennifer Arceneaux for the newly created position of director of external relations for the nonprofit.
Arceneaux will oversee the institute’s fundraising, marketing and communications efforts, supervising a staff of 25.
She’ll be based in Los Angeles and begin Sept 17, reporting directly to exec director Keri Putnam, who was appointed to that slot earlier this year.
Arceneaux has been director of development for the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles for the past seven years, launching the MOCA Now development campaign and the MOCA New initiative which raised more than $70 million. She also served as director of development at the Accelerated School in Los Angeles, where she executed a $60 million expansion campaign.
“Jennifer has broad experience and demonstrated excellence in development, cultivation and outreach,” said Putnam.
Arceneaux will oversee planning for the Sundance Institute’s revenue sources; work to augment permanently endowed funds; oversee special events for donors and alumni and direct strategic media partnerships.
Founded by Robert Redford in 1981, the Sundance Institute is a nonprofit that produces the annual Sundance Film Festival and fosters film and theater talent through labs, funding and special projects.
